A Brief History
Panth Rattan Late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra was a great visionary who understood the importance of Education. He was more concerned about the welfare of an average farmer, worker or land labourer since the children of such people didn't have access to even primary education.
In order to impart quality education at affordable cost to the children of the common people of the area, Jathedar Tohra founder Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Education Trust in 1985. Philanthropists' personalities of the area liberally contributed for this cause and B.Z.S.F.S. Sen. Sec. Public School was established in the year 1986. The trustees included Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra as its founder President, S. Kirpal Singh Libra as the Chairman & Col. Shamsher Singh as the Vic - Chairman.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee leased 12 and half acres of land to the Trust for setting up the school. The Finances for construction of the building were arranged through liberal donations by Eminent persons, Social Workers and General Public. Initially a block of twelve rooms was constructed. Thereafter with the saving from the school funds and donations from general public, a Magnificent Building was constructed.
The school is named after the younger sahibzadas of Tenth Master, Guru Gobind Singh Ji who were bricked alive for the cause of Truth, Justice and fight against Tyranny. The School is located near Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup crossing.
B.Z.S.F.S. Sr. Sec. Public School is an English Medium Co-Education Institution affiliated to Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. The School is running Arts, Medical, Non-Medical and Commerce Streams up to 10+2 level both for boys and girls. Separate blocks have been earmarked for Junior & Senior Secondary classes. A Spacious Auditorium, Principal's Residence and 13 staff quarters wear added subsequently. The Trust is running three more branches of this school at Naulakha Sahib, Karhali Sahib and Manzi sahib Kottan.
After the unfortunate demise of Panth Rattan Jatehdar Gurcharan Singh Tohra, S. Kirpal Singh Libra Ex-MLA was unanimously elected as president of the Trust. The School, on the one hand aims at producing ideal citizens & on the other hand it has been making efforts to enlighten its students about the Sikh Heritage, Tradition, History and Religion.
The Trust always seeks guidance & help from S.G.P.C., Amritsar, the premier democratically elected institution of the Sikhs & such other August Organizations. Under the benevolent and able patronage ship of Jatehdar Avtar Singh ,President, S.G.P.C., the school is bound to make a place for itself in Northern India in the years to come.
Due to the Sudden & untimely demise of S. Kirpal Singh Libra on 7th May, 2007. Sardar Amrinder Singh Libra has been elected unanimously as President of the Trust.
S. Amrinder Singh Libra is a personality of libral and positive thinking. Under his able leadership the school is on the path of progress in evry aspect. Due to his dynamic personality he has been inducted as member of Distt planning board.
